DonDada Tech Empowers Valencia College Students with Future-Ready Digital Skills

Inspiring the Next Generation Beyond the Classroom

The future of work is changing rapidly, and preparing students for tomorrow requires more than academic excellence alone. It requires exposure, guidance, and the right digital skills.

On 23 July 2026, DonDada Tech had the privilege of participating in Valencia College, Ibadan’s Career Guidance Week, where our Founder and CEO, Lekan Dada, was invited as a Guest Speaker and Facilitator during the Career Station: Young Professionals Session.

The session brought together Junior Secondary School Three (JSS3) and Senior Secondary School One (SS1) students for an engaging conversation about careers, technology, Artificial Intelligence, and the skills they should begin developing today to prepare for tomorrow.

Your Dream Career + Digital Skills = Your Future Success

Speaking on the theme, “Your Dream Career + Digital Skills = Your Future Success,” Lekan Dada challenged students to think differently about their future.

He explained that DonDada Tech was not there to discourage their dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, accountants, entrepreneurs, or pilots. Instead, the message was simple:

Whatever career you choose, digital skills will help you become better at it.

Using relatable examples, students learned how technology is transforming every profession—from healthcare and law to agriculture, education, engineering, and business.

Making Technology Easy to Understand

One of the highlights of the session was simplifying complex technology concepts into language students could easily understand.

Students were introduced to topics such as:

• What a skill is
• What digital skills are
• Why digital skills matter
• What Artificial Intelligence (AI) is
• How AI is already helping people work smarter

Rather than presenting AI as something to fear, students were encouraged to see it as a tool that supports learning, creativity, research, and productivity when used responsibly.

An Interactive Session Filled with Curiosity

The session quickly became more than a presentation.

Students actively participated, shared their career aspirations, answered questions, and confidently asked thoughtful questions of their own.

One question that stood out was:

“Will Artificial Intelligence take our jobs?”

Responding to the question, Lekan Dada explained that while AI is changing the way people work, it is unlikely to replace people who know how to think, solve problems, communicate, and use technology effectively.

Instead, students were encouraged to begin learning how to work with AI rather than fear it.

The interactive Question and Answer session gave students the opportunity to ask about career choices, technology, future opportunities, and how they could begin preparing themselves while still in secondary school.

Students Left Inspired and Confident

Throughout the session, the atmosphere was lively, engaging, and filled with excitement.

Students participated enthusiastically, responded confidently to questions, and demonstrated a genuine curiosity about the future of work.

By the end of the session, many expressed that they now had a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them and the importance of combining education with digital skills.

More importantly, they left with confidence, knowing that their future is bright and that they can begin preparing for it today.
